The officers and members of the Mounted Division recognize and acknowledge that our unit was authorized and established to serve at the pleasure of the Sheriff of Hillsdale County, Michigan. We agree therefor to abide by and conduct ourselves in accordance with the following tenets:
· To abide our oath to serve and protect in complete obedience of the dictates of the constitutions of the United States of America and the State of Michigan.
· To aid and assist when called upon by the Hillsdale County Sheriff in matters of security, the enforcement of law and order, and public safety.
· To assist in the logistics of traffic and crowd management when appropriate and necessary.
· To be in continual promotion of good public relations between local and state law enforcement agencies and the general public.
· To publicly conduct ourselves both individually and as a unit with complete professionalism, integrity, and honor.
· To maintain in adequate condition and training ourselves, our equipment, and mounts to insure an ability sufficient to any and all circumstances of potential duty.
· To at all time be aware that the unit’s primary obligation is to the public safety and well being.
