Captain Edwin Hodshire

Jail Division Commander

In the Hillsdale County Jail system, Corrections Officers maintain custody and supervise the work and conduct of inmates. While they must attend training, Correction Officers are distinguished from Sheriff's Deputies in that they have limited police officer power, are not deputy coroners, and are not assigned to patrol or bailiff duties. Corrections Officers must pass a Background Investigation, physical and education requirements in order to qualify for the position.
